Manchurian Recipe: A Perfect Indo-Chinese Delight with Extra Light Olive Oil

Manchurian is among the most loved Indo-Chinese dishes, offering a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and savory flavors. Whether you prefer dry or gravy Manchurian, this recipe will help you make a delicious restaurant-style dish at home. To make it healthier, we use Urban Mills Extra Light Olive Oil, which enhances the taste while keeping it light and nutritious.

Ingredients:

For the Manchurian Balls:

  • 1 cup grated cabbage

  • 1/2 cup grated carrot

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped capsicum

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)

  • 2 tbsp cornflour

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • Salt to taste

For the Manchurian Gravy:

  • 2 tbsp Urban Mills Extra Light Olive Oil

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger

  • 2-3 green chillies (finely chopped)

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 1 tbsp vinegar

  • 1 tbsp cornflour mixed with 1/4 cup water

  • 1 cup water

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Spring onions for garnish

Instructions:

Preparing the Manchurian Balls:

  1. Combine grated cabbage, carrot, capsicum, all-purpose flour, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.

  2. Mix well and form small balls from the mixture.

  3. Heat Urban Mills Extra Light Olive Oil in a pan and deep-fry the balls until golden brown. Drain and keep aside.

Preparing the Gravy:

  1. Heat Urban Mills Extra Light Olive Oil in a pan and sauté chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies until fragrant.

  2. Add chopped onions and capsicum, and sauté for 2 minutes.

  3. Pour in soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, and vinegar. Mix well.

  4. Add water and bring to a boil.

  5. Stir in the cornflour slurry and cook until the gravy thickens.

  6. Add the fried Manchurian balls and mix well.

  7. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
